There are two different ways to recover it
When you open an inbestMe ETF’s account, you automatically open an account in Interactive Brokers (the entity that holds your positions and cash).
When your Interactive Brokers (IB) account is activated, you receive an email and an SMS to enter at your “IB Client Portal”. In those messages, the next information is included:
- Your IB user name (which is different from your inbestMe user name).
- A temporal password that you have to modify when you enter the first time.
If you don’t remember the password, or you did not change the temporal one, you have two different ways to recover the access.
- If you remember the security questions that you registered in your portal the first time you entered, you can get back the password via web at the following link: "recover my Interactive Brokers’ password".
- If you cannot recover it via web, then you have to contact IB Costumer Service by calling the freephone number 00800-42-276537 (if you live outside the European Union, check the other available phone numbers).
After an initial speech, the options you must follow are: assistance with login (step 3), and then, assistance with a password (step 1).
For security and privacy issues, IB requires that it has to be the customer himself who contacts them and requests to recover the access password.
