What guarantees does my Savings Portfolio have?

Like any portfolio, your portfolio is protected.

However, the inbestMe Savings Portfolio is designed to hold your capital and earn interest linked to official central bank rates.

The inbestMe Savings Portfolio is like any other portfolio.

  • In the case of the Euro Savings Portfolio (Index Funds):

What hedges does the cash held in the inbestMe concentrator account at BBVA have for its Index Funds clients?

Up to €100,000 per client. In the case of the Index Funds portfolios, there is a small percentage of capital (around 1%) held in cash in a BBVA account in the name of inbestMe. What would happen to this cash if inbestMe were to cease trading? In this case, the coverage offered by the Fogain would come into play: €100,000 per client.

What would happen to my Index Funds if GVC Gaesco were to cease trading?

In the case of your positions invested in Index Funds, these are recorded in an internal register within the omnibus account that Allfunds Bank (the platform used to contract funds) maintains with each fund manager. In the event that GVC Gaesco ceases its activity, under the supervision of the corresponding regulator, another custodian entity would be sought where the funds could be transferred and you could continue to maintain your investment portfolio.

In the case of the Dollar Savings Portfolio (ETFs):

What would happen if Interactive Brokers ceased trading?

The answer depends on whether we are talking about the cash or the invested positions.

  • In the case of ETFs, these are recorded in an internal register within the omnibus account that IB maintains with each manager. In the event that IB ceases its activity, under the supervision of the corresponding regulator, another custodian entity would be sought where the ETFs could be transferred and you could continue to maintain your investment portfolio.

  • In the case of cash held in IB, this, being capital held in the name of Interactive Brokers (either in its Irish or US branch*), would need to be covered by one of the 2 agencies that each IB branch has. In the case of IB Ireland, the cash would be covered by ICCL up to 90% of its total with a maximum of €20,000 and in the case of IB USA, the cash would be protected by SIPC up to $500,000.

*In the case of ETF portfolios, the custodian where the securities account is opened in the client's name is Interactive Brokers. Depending on the country of residence, the securities account will be opened with IB Ireland (residents in a member state of the European Union) or IB LLC USA (all other countries where we can offer the service).

In addition, your money is invested outside inbestMe's balance sheet. Your money is invested in the best money market funds from large, well-known fund managers and spread across hundreds of assets.
