Commissions, calculation and collection | Practical example

It is calculated and charged monthly on the average net asset value of the month. In all our portfolios (except for the Pension Plan portfolios), our algorithms maintain an "optimal cash" to discount the fees generated.

Management commission and Custody commission

They are calculated on the average monthly asset managed in each portfolio. All reported percentages are annual and include taxes that may apply in each case.

  • inbestMe’s management commission, both in portfolios with indexed funds and in portfolios with ETF, is calculated and charged monthly. The calculation is applied to the average net asset value managed each month.
  • GVC Gaesco’s custody commission, in index funds’ accounts (Standard or SRI), is calculated based on the average monthly amount managed in the portfolio and is charged quarterly.
  • Interactive Brokers’ custody and trading commission, in ETF accounts (Standard, Dynamic, SRI or Value) are calculated and charged monthly based on the average amount managed in the portfolio each month.

In the case of pension plan portfolios, inbestMe doesn’t charge the client for its management (remember that they are conformed by two pension plans that combine to get different risk profiles). The portfolio must stay balanced within the profile (executing the corresponding balancing), updated according to the profile and type of plan required by the Client (Standard or SRI), and has to manage the recurring funding or punctual funding that there might be.

Implicit cost (of funds or ETF used in portfolios)

The implicit cost (TER) of each fund or ETF used in our portfolios, is applied by the consultant itself (Vanguard, Blackrock, Amundi, etc.), and it is already discounted on the daily net worth of the fund or ETF.

By using Index Funds or ETF (in both cases from the most important international consultants), the implicit cost incurred in inbestMe portfolios is, fundamentally, lower than that incurred, for example, by a traditional portfolio with actively managed funds.

To see more details about the implicit cost of each portfolio, you can visit our expenses' website, or the expenses’ FAQ section of each portfolio, where you will find all the information about our model portfolios.

A practical example of inbestMe commission calculation

To understand better the calculation of these commissions, down below you have an example with a hypothetical standard Indexed Funds portfolio, that always keeps €5,000 under inbestMe’s management. (The values must be modified according to the chosen portfolio and investment).

  • inbestMe management fee: 0.41% of €5,000 = €20.5 (annual amount, accrued monthly).
  • Custody commission GVC Gaesco: 0.105% of €5,000= €5.25 (annual amount, accrued quarterly).
  • Average TER of the funds used: 0.13% of €5,000 = €6.5 (this amount is applied by the fund consultant and is already discounted in the daily value).

The combined total of the three types of expenses (Management, Custody and included cost in used funds) would be €32.25 per year for every €5,000 managed in the portfolio.

The values provided in this data set are only valid as an example since in, practice, the daily value of the portfolio varies according to the evolution of the different funds that make it up.

Possible promotions or codes that may be applied to portfolios are not taken into account (see "inbestMe Promotions").

Prorated Calculation

For cases where customers close their accounts in less than a month or a full quarter (when it comes to portfolios held by GVC Gaesco), a prorated fee is applied according to the days of the month or quarter in which the account was activated.
